Job description

Where would you work?

Adaviv is an innovative agriculture technology company spun off from MIT offering the world's first farmer-centric platform for greenhouse and controlled farms. We leverage advanced software and AI technology to more efficiently manage people and plants and, ultimately, improve farm profitability and sustainability. With HQ based in Greentown Labs, Somerville, MA (the largest clean-tech accelerator in the world), Adaviv’s clients include some of the world's leading greenhouse and indoor farms. Adaviv is at an exciting stage of growth and is looking forward to adding passionate and mission-driven individuals, with a growth mindset, to the team.

What would you be doing?

As a Data Science and Business Insights/Analytics Intern at Adaviv, you will work closely with our engineering, product, and customer teams to build models and develop analytics for our AI-powered performance management and crop health platform. You will help automate reporting processes, generate business insights for our customers, and contribute to the intelligent allocation of resources and performance management of plants and people in greenhouse environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the team to build and refine multivariate models using a mix of deterministic, nonparametric, and AI-based methods.
  • Developing analytics solutions that drive actionable insights for greenhouse farm performance management.
  • Automating business insights and reporting systems for our customers, ensuring that insights are easy to digest and actionable.
  • Working with data from diverse sources, integrating various metrics related to crop health and labor productivity.
  • Supporting ongoing innovation in Adaviv’s AI farm assistant platform, contributing to the design and development of predictive and prescriptive models.

You will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our product development by improving automation and analytics processes, ensuring we deliver high-quality, actionable insights to our customers.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a passionate and driven undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Ideal candidates will have a foundational understanding of data science principles and a curiosity for how data can drive decisions in agriculture and greenhouse management.

At Adaviv, we value continuous learning and cross-functional collaboration. You'll work closely with engineers, product leads, and customers to ensure the data insights you develop are actionable and aligned with customer needs.

This is a part-time position, suitable for students, and can be local or remote. We’re looking for someone eager to dive into the world of agricultural technology and make a tangible impact on sustainable farming practices.
